Apparati multiplex ġeneralment jintużaw fl-ipproċessar tas-sinjali diġitali jew Analogi biex jagħżlu jew jaqilbu fost sinjali ta' input multipli. Il-multiplexers ipprovduti minn Qualwave jinkludu diplexers u triplexers.
Duplexer, magħruf ukoll bħala antenna komuni, jikkonsisti f'żewġ settijiet ta' filtri Band-stop bi frekwenzi differenti. Bl-użu tal-funzjoni tad-diviżjoni tal-frekwenza tal-filtri high-pass, low-pass, jew bandpass, l-istess antenna jew linja ta' trasmissjoni tista' tintuża għal żewġ mogħdijiet tas-sinjali, u b'hekk tinkiseb ir-riċeviment u t-trasmissjoni ta' żewġ sinjali jew aktar ta' frekwenza differenti mill-istess antenna.
It-triplex jikkonsisti fi tliet filtri (portijiet) li jaqsmu nodu wieħed (port). Il-miri tat-tagħbija u l-iżolament tal-passband tad-duplexer huma l-istess bħal dawk tad-duplexer. Fis-sistemi duplex tad-diviżjoni tal-frekwenza, applikazzjoni komuni ta' triplex hija li żewġ diplexers jingħaqdu f'triplexer wieħed.
